'Something blue' for your white wedding

Neither Surveen Chawla nor her husband Akshay Thakker is a Christian but they had an all-white wedding two years ago. While revealing about her hush-hush marriage recently, the Hate Story 2 actress went on to express that it was her dream to get married in a chapel. Just like Surveen Chawla many girls secretly wish to have a white wedding ceremony. I can hear that muffled yes.

Just like sangeet and mehendi, the idea of wearing the bridal gown, walking the aisle with a bouquet and exchanging rings in front of the whole world, excites them all. It would not be wrong to say that this new trend is the upshot of Hollywood influence on us. We don’t just like their movies but also imbibe their culture into our life. White wedding is just one of them.

 Something blue

But the beauty of any ceremony, whether your own or a borrowed one, is in fulfilling the rituals. If you too are going in for a chapel wedding and is busy putting together your trousseau for your big day, do not forget the time-honoured tradition - something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. This charming ritual is believed to give the bride good luck on her wedding day and also, guarantee fertility and prosperity.
